Hier die Ergebnisse meiner Experimente:
Grundverfahren
Gebraucht wird:
- eine Rolle doppelseitig klebendes Bastelband (gibts in jeder Papeterieabteilung, ist einfach doppelseitiger Tesafilm der auf mindestens einer Seite eine Schutzfolie hat, so was hier)
- entweder schön gemusterte Servietten (ihr braucht nur die bedruckte Papierschicht, die anderen Lagen könnt ihr von der bedruckten ablösen und wegwerfen) , schöner Baumwollstoff, Geschenkpapier oder ähnliches
-eine Schere
- ein langer Arbeitsplatz :)
So einfach wirds gemacht:
Einfach Stoff, Geschenkpapier oder Serviette mit der linken Seite nach oben auf den Tisch legen, Tape mit der Klebeseite draufpappen, glatt streichen, Serviette/Stoff/Papier entlang der Tape Ränder abschneiden und das nächste abgerollte Stück Klebeband damit verschönern. Am Schluss die Ränder mit einer Schere sauber abschneiden, Band aufrollen und mit einer Schnur zusammenbinden und fertig ist das Homemade Tape. Wichtig ist, dass auf der einen Seite die Schutzfolie drauf bleibt, sonst pappt sich die Unterseite an eurer schön dekorierten Seite fest :S
So und jetzt sagt ihr, ist ja schön und gut, ABER....
Ich hab nur doppelseitiges Klebeband ohne Schutzfolie.
Kein Problem einfach das Tape mit der einen Seite auf Backtrennpapier oder ein sonstiges Wachspapier kleben (wirkt wie die Schutzfolie), den Rändern entang abschneiden und die andere Seite wie gehabt verschönern.
Ich habe gar kein doppelseitiges Klebeband gefunden
In dem Fall kann man auch Malerkreppband benutzen (so was hier). Einfach die klebende Seite auf Backpapier befestigen, die nicht klebende Seite mit flüssigem Leim einstreichen und Stoff oder Geschenkpapier aufbringen. Der Vorteil ist, dass es Malerkreppband in vielen verschiedenen breiten günstig zu kaufen gibt, der Nachteil , dass diese Methode mit Servietten nicht funktioniert, da diese zu dünn sind und dementsprechend knittern oder reissen.
Ich habe kein schönes Papier/Stoff zur Hand
Auch für das gibts eine Lösung, einfach eine Vorlage auf weisses, farbiges oder transparentes Papier ausdrucken. Von mir gibts dazu die:

The regular readers amongst you know how much I love Washi / Masking Tape. The only problem is that the great ricepapertape (ricepaper is called washi paper in japanese, that's why it's not only called masking tape but also washi tape :P ) is so damn expensive. Because I'm probably not the only crafty person who's always short of money, I looked in the blogosphere for advice and some experiments later I have sensational news: you can make your own maskingtape and it's so easy! :D
So here are the results of my experiments:
Basic procedure
you need:
- a roll of double sided scotch tape (If you can get a hold of some which has a protective film on one side, that's great cause with those it's the easiest)
- neat napkins( just take the layer where the print is on, the rest you can throw away) or some nice cotton cloth, some paper or some gift-wrapping paper... etc.
- a pair of scissors
- a long working table
and that's how easily you can do it:
Just place your napkin, paper, cloth with the left side up on the table. Stick the tape to it, smooth it and cut the excess which you stick to the next piece of tape. Trim off all the excess nicely and roll it up. string it up with a nice ribbon and you have your own homemade tape. It's really important that the protective film stays on on one side, otherwise the tape will stick to your nicely decorated side when you rolled it up :S
And now you can say piece of cake BUT....
I only have double sided tape without a protective film
That's no problem at all! Just stick one side of the tape to baking paper (or some other sort of waxpaper). That has the same effect as the protective film. Trim off the excess baking- / waypaper and decorate the other side as described above.
I couldn't get a hold of any kind of double sided tape
In this case you can use normal (not decorated) masking tape and some glue. Just stick the sticky side to waxpaper (see above) and put some glue on the other side. Stick the paper or similar ob top of the glue and trim the excess. The advantage is that you can get masking tape in many different sizes, the disadvantage is that this technique doesn't work with napkins.
I don't have any neat cloth or paper
Even for that I got a solution Just print one of my Templates on normal, colored or transparant paper and start crafting :)
