Ostereierkerzen / Eastereggcandles

Hier (etwas verspätet) eine weitere Idee, was sich aus Eierschalen so machen lässt... Ich geh jetzt in die Küche meine Schoko-osterhasen fertig machen (ja, ja die Anleitung folgt :D ) und ihr könnt euch eine weitere Dekoidee für die festliche Tafel, holen wenn ihr auf mehr lesen klickt ;)

Gebraucht wird:
gefärbte Eierschalen (wie ihr das Färben hinkriegt könnt ihr hier nachsehen)
Teelichter (1,5 fach soviel wie ihr Kerzen haben wollt)
Eine alte Dose
Eine Zange
Ein Topf mit heissem Wasser
Masking Tape oder ein schönes Band

So wirds gemacht:
1) Nehmt die Teelichter aus der Aluschale und dreht sie um. Unten hat es ein kleines Plättchen an welchem der Docht befestigt ist. Zieht daran vorsichtigt den Docht aus dem Teelicht raus.
2)Stellt den Docht in die Mitte euer leeren Eierschalen. Am einfachsten färbt ihr ganze Eier und esst sie sauber aus und benutzt dann die Schalen zum basteln. Oder ihr trennt die Eier einfach auf und färbt nur die Schalen. Ausgeblasene Eier eignen sich nicht so gut, da sie ein Loch unten haben und das Wachs rausläuft
3) legt die Aluschalen unter die Eierschalen, so dass sie gerade stehen und gebt die nun übrigbleibenden Wachstücke in die Dose.
4) Stellt die Dose nun in den Topf und füllt ihn mit soviel Wasser auf, dass die Dose noch sicher steht.
5) Stellt den Topf auf den Herd und lasst das Wasser solange Sieden bis alles Wachs in der Dose geschmolzen ist. Achtung das Wachs darf nicht kochen und darf nicht unbeaufsichtigt bleiben, da es sich wenn es zu lange zu heiss ist entzünden könnte! Aber keine Sorge wenn ihr daneben stehen bleibt und es im wasserbad nur gerade schmelzen lasst wird nichts passieren!
6) Nehmt nun die Dose mit der Zange in die Hand (da sie heiss ist) und füllt die Eierschalen mit Wachs gerade so hoch, dass die Spitze des Dochts unbedeckt bleibt.
7) Lasst das ganze auskühlen und das Wachs hart werden. Wenn alles fertig ist noch schnell die Aluschalen mit Maskingtape oder einem schönen Band zu Halter umfunktionieren und fertig sind die Kerzen für die festliche Tafel (auf der ihr natürlich nie Kerzen unbeaufsichtigt brennen lasst ;) )

You'll need:
colored eggshells (An idea of how the coloring works you get here)
Tealights (about 1,5 times the amount you want candles)
An old can
A pair of pliers
A pot of hot water
Washi tape or a nice ribbon

That's how you do it:
1) Separate the tealight from their casing and turn them upside down. Now remove the wick carefully.
2) Place the wick inside of your eggshell. Make sure to place it in the middle. The easiest way to get eggshells for this is either to color and cook eggs and keep the shells once you've eaten them. Or just keep the shells from the eggs you put into your breakfast pancakes and color those. Eggshells from blown-out eggs aren't suitable for this project cause the wax will run out through the hole in the bottom...
3) Use the tealight casings to give your eggshells with the wicks a secure, straight stand.
4) Place the wax parts of your tealight in the can and put the can in the pot. Fill up the pot with just enough water to still let the can stand securely on the bottom.
5) Place the pot on the oven and bring the water to boil, allowing the wax to melt. Be sure to supervise the whole process!!! Cause if you leave wax to melt unsupervised for too long (ok it takes a while... but still!) it might get too hot and start burning. But Anyways if you stand by the oven during the melting process it's absolutely save and harmless.
6) Use your pliers to grab the can, once all of your wax is melted and fill it carefully into your eggshells. Make sure to leave a tip of the wick, to be able to light the candle in the end.
7) Let the whole thing cool. While the wax is hardening you can use your ribbons or washi tape to decorate the casings. Now just place the finished candles on their casing stands on the table for the feast and have a happy family gathering. I think it goes without saying that you never leave burning candles unsupervised and that where there's a flame, there's heat, so take care of your hands ;P
