Marzipan Schoko-Osterhasen / Marzipan Chocolate-Easterbunnies
Viel Spass beim Naschen
Juna

Last Year I made some Marzipan chocolate bunnies for Easter. I have a lot of Marzipanlovers in my family. And although I live in Switzerland, the land of chocolate (and cheese :P ) I couldn't find any marzipan filled Easterbunnies to buy. So as always I decided to just do some myself. Because it was a huge success I did some again this year and it's so easy that I just had to share it with you :)
(For a bunny of approximately 10 cm height)You'll need:
-500g Marzipan storebought or selfmade (Just mix 250g finely grated almonds, 250g powdered sugar and 30ml water or any liqueur of your choice and knead it until you got a nice dough.)
-100g (dark) chocolate
- baking parchment
- a knife
And that's how you do it:
1) Use your marzipan to form your Dreameasterbunny.
2) Place the Bunny on your backing parchment and deepfreeze for at least an hour.
3) Once your outer layer of marzipan is hard and cold melt your chocolate in a waterbath.
4) Use about a spoonful of chocolate to spread on the baking parchment. The patch needs to be at least as big as the downside of your bunny. Keep the rest of the chocolate in the waterbath to keep it liquid. Let your patch harden a bit for about 5 min and put your marzipan bunny on it. Carefully peel the bunny with the choclate stuck to the bottom from the parchment paper and trim off the excess chocolate.
5)Put the bunny back on the baking parchment and pour the rest of the chocolate over it.
6) Leave the bunny in the chocolate sea for about 2 min to let the excess chocolate drop down.
7) Take the bunny out of the chocolate sea and put it on a fresh baking parchment and let it harden and dry completely
8) Wrap it up and put it in the basket.
Enjoy your chocolate bunnies!

Ostereierkerzen / Eastereggcandles

So wirds gemacht:
Frohe Ostern Euch allen!
Juna

You'll need:
colored eggshells (An idea of how the coloring works you get here)
Tealights (about 1,5 times the amount you want candles)
An old can
A pair of pliers
A pot of hot water
Washi tape or a nice ribbon
That's how you do it:
1) Separate the tealight from their casing and turn them upside down. Now remove the wick carefully.
2) Place the wick inside of your eggshell. Make sure to place it in the middle. The easiest way to get eggshells for this is either to color and cook eggs and keep the shells once you've eaten them. Or just keep the shells from the eggs you put into your breakfast pancakes and color those. Eggshells from blown-out eggs aren't suitable for this project cause the wax will run out through the hole in the bottom...
3) Use the tealight casings to give your eggshells with the wicks a secure, straight stand.
4) Place the wax parts of your tealight in the can and put the can in the pot. Fill up the pot with just enough water to still let the can stand securely on the bottom.
5) Place the pot on the oven and bring the water to boil, allowing the wax to melt. Be sure to supervise the whole process!!! Cause if you leave wax to melt unsupervised for too long (ok it takes a while... but still!) it might get too hot and start burning. But Anyways if you stand by the oven during the melting process it's absolutely save and harmless.
6) Use your pliers to grab the can, once all of your wax is melted and fill it carefully into your eggshells. Make sure to leave a tip of the wick, to be able to light the candle in the end.
7) Let the whole thing cool. While the wax is hardening you can use your ribbons or washi tape to decorate the casings. Now just place the finished candles on their casing stands on the table for the feast and have a happy family gathering. I think it goes without saying that you never leave burning candles unsupervised and that where there's a flame, there's heat, so take care of your hands ;P
Happy Easter to all of you!
Juna

Ostereiervasen / Eastereggvases
So wirds gemacht:
Eure Juna

You'll need:
colored Eggshells(an idea how to do that you'll get here)
Needle and thread
a pin
That's how it's done:
1) The easiest way to get colored eggshells is to color Eggs and eat them just keeping the shells :) Or you crack the Eggs open and just color the shells. Blown Eggs don't work for this cause they got a hole in the bottom which will allow the water to run out ;)
2) Use the pin to veeeeeeeery carefully make two holes into the upper part of the shell. One on each side.
3) Use the needle and the thread to run it through the holes. Leave a Loop in the desired size of the hanger and knot the ends tightly.
4) Fill up with water hang it up and put in some small flowers and enjoy the beauty!

Material:
Eier
Eierfärbfarbe
Etikettenpapier und Bordürenstanzer oder Sticker
So wirds gemacht:
So gibts farbige Abdrücke.
eure Juna

I love the days before Eastersunday. For they're holidays too they give you a chance to get everything done before the big familybrunch and the Egghunt on Sunday. I always prepare the nests, decorate the house and of course color some eggs. This year I updated the well-tried stickermethod to give my eggs a lacy look...
Materials needed:
Eggs
Eggpaint
Labelpaper and border punches or stickers
That's how it's done:
1) Cook the Eggs or blow them
2) Use the border puncher to get lace borders punched from the labelpaper
3) Dry the eggs and stick the borders or the stickers on the eggs
4) mix the colors according to the package and put your eggs in the solution for about 2,5 to 3 min (if you leave them longer than 5 min it might not work, cause the color will soak through your paper)
5)Remove the egg from the colorbath and get the stickers off and andmire your eggs... If you color your eggs in a light shade first (either choose a light color or just leave it really short in the color) then put the stickers on and put it in a darker colorbath (or longer in the same color) you'll get eggs in two different colors.
What else you can do with eggshells for Easter,I'll show you in the next couple of days :)
Have fun coloring
your Juna
